A new software update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5 T smartphones has been released by OnePlus. Carrying the OxygenOS 9.0.4 build number, the update brings with it several changes, including Google Duo's recently announced deep integration. The update will be released starting today, according to the company, and will initially reach a limited number of users due to the incremental nature of the rollout. For both OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5 T, the broader rollout will start over the next few days.
The OxygenOS 9.0.4 update for the OnePlus 5 Rs. 35,699 and OnePlus 5 T smartphones includes January Android security patch, enhanced stability for OTA upgrades, general bug fixes, and system enhancements, according to a post on the official OnePlus forum. The update also brings stability to the network and deep integration with Google Duo. The integration of Google Duo adds the video calling capabilities of Duo to smartphone call logs, contacts, dial pads, and messaging. Reports from users indicate the size of the update is 1741 MB.
The OxygenOS 9.0.4 update is being rolled out over - the-air (OTA) and after the update is ready for their smartphone, the OnePlus 5/5 T owners will automatically receive a notification. If you don't want to wait, you can use Settings > System > Software updates to manually search for the update.
Meanwhile, OnePlus also revealed that soon the Android 9 Pie update will be available for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Originally the update was supposed to arrive by the end of 2018, but it took the company to release it longer than usual.
